You Won’t Be Competing for the Reader’s Eye
With Dozens of Little Ads on the Same Page
Scratch-Golfer.Com pages feature only two large banner advertisements per page – one horizontal and one vertical.
The horizontal banner (468 pixels wide, 60 pixels high) is at the top center, right between the website header and the feature story.
The vertical banner (150 pixels wide, 600 pixels high) is at the top of the right hand column in prime eye-catching position.
Each advertiser receives BOTH horizontal banner and vertical banner placements in rotation on every click-through page on the website (you don’t have to worry about selecting the “best section” for your advertising because all pages are treated equally). Regardless of which pages a reader clicks to on the site, every advertiser will be seen an equal number of times.
(Note: The Scratch-Golfer.com Home Page features a horizontal banner only. All other pages have both horizontal and vertical banners.)
We limit the number of advertisers in the rotation to no more than 20 at a time.
One of your two ads will be seen by a reader for every 10 pages viewed as they click through the site.
Based on expected impressions of 500,000 per month*, each advertiser will receive about 50,000 impressions per month (25,000 impressions for the horizontal banner and 25,000 impressions for the vertical banner) … at a cost of a penny or less per impression!
*Impressions have actually ranged as high as one million per month. However, due to the variable nature of website traffic, the number of impressions, page hits, unique IP addresses, or other statistics cannot be guaranteed.

DON’T DELAY – Premium Weeks Fill Up Fast
You may select which weeks you want your banner advertising to appear on the websites or newsletter.
Exceptions:
* 12-month agreements, which must run 51 consecutive weeks (no newsletter Christmas week) once started.
* Weeks in which we’ve already reached our maximum advertiser limit of 20 per website or 2 per newsletter).
This means you can tailor your advertising to align with your business’ sales cycle, special events, etc.
Some weeks fill up fast, so place your order with your preferences soon to ensure premium positioning.
Banners May Be Changed Weekly
Banners may be changed once per week at no additional charge if supplied by the advertiser.
Unless otherwise specified, banners will be changed on Wednesdays. Please allow two business days for changes to be implemented.
Changes more frequently than once a week will be subject to an administrative fee of $50 per change.
If changes require design by Scratch Golfer personnel, Banner Design Services fees (see below) will be applied.
International Reach
For retailers who sell via the Internet, Scratch-Golfer.com reaches readers in over 50 countries around the world – Canada, the UK, Sweden, Australia, Japan, Korea, and dozens of other nations with avid golfer populations.
PAYMENT TERMS
All advertising must be prepaid. No banners will be posted until payment is received.
To receive multi-placement package discounts and bonuses, entire package must be paid in advance.
No refund shall be provided once a banner has been published. Cancellations once the term of agreement has begun will be refunded based on the one-week rate charges being applied (ie, $200 per week for the Scratch-Golfer.Com website, $750 for the biweekly E-zine Newsletter) to all advertising published prior to receipt of written cancellation.
TRADE CREDIT OPTION
WE ACCEPT (some) TRADE – we will consider up to $500 in merchandise or trade credit (at wholesale/cost, not retail price) with prepaid advertising agreements of $2000 or more.
The merchandise or service must be something we can use in reader sweepstakes – the sweepstakes will be promoted on the website, in E-zine Newsletters, and by other means … so you will receive bonus exposure as well.
We will also consider offering credit for use of your customer email list to send our biweekly E-zine Newsletter -- again, more bonus exposure for your products and services. Please contact us for details.
AGENCIES
Scratch Golfer Magazine extends the customary 15 percent discount to recognized advertising agencies. Agencies and advertisers are jointly and severally liable for all charges. Agencies and advertisers assume liability for the contents of all advertisements and agree to indemnify the publisher against any damages and related expenses (including attorney's fees) arising out of such publication.
BANNER DESIGN SERVICES
Initial banner design is FREE for prepaid advertising agreements of three months or more.
For agreements of less than three months or for changes to banners by the publisher, design fees are:
Non-Flash (Static) Banners - $50.00
Flash (motion) Banners - $100.00

BANNER SPECIFICATIONS
& POLICIES
All banner advertisements must be approved by the publisher before being displayed on the websites or newsletter. We reserve the right to reject any insertion order, graphic, text description, URL link, or other functionality.
The publisher reserves the right to modify the content or layout of any page that may be displaying a banner.
Rates, terms, and specifications described herein are subject to change at the discretion of the publisher.
BANNER DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS
DEADLINE – Advertisers must allow at least two (2) business days for testing of HTML banners before publishing.
USER RESOLUTION – Scratch-Golfer.com is designed to accommodate user resolutions of 800 pixels x 600 pixels or larger.
Advertiser should supply one Horizontal banner and one Vertical banner:
Horizontal banner should be 468 pixels wide by 60 pixels high
Vertical banner should be 150 pixels wide by 600 pixels high
FILE SIZE – Banners should be no larger than 50 KB.
FORMATS – Banners should be supplied in Photoshop, Flash, .jpg, or .gif formats and include ALL artwork, image files, and fonts.
Images must be RGB and 72 DPI.
Banners should be encased in a border (ie, blending -- so as to appear to be part of editorial content -- is NOT PERMITTED).
Transparent backgrounds (which appear to blend into editorial content) are NOT PERMITTED.
FLASH BANNERS are permitted, but may NOT expand or have sound.
DO NOT include HTML, META, HEAD, TITLE, or BODY tags in your banner code.
POP-UPS and POP-UNDERS are NOT PERMITTED.
IMAGE CALLS (ie, “IMG SRC=” in the code) are NOT PERMITTED.

ADVERTISING POLICIES
Banner ads may NOT use any of the Scratch-Golfer.com family of names to imply affiliation with or an endorsement by Scratch Golfer Magazine (unless a specific affiliation/endorsement has been agreed to in writing).
Advertising standards for television and print advertising prohibit advertisers from issuing ads, infomercials, or infotisements in such a manner that the viewer or reader believes the content is news rather than advertising. Scratch Golfer Magazine follows the same policy. The publisher reserves the right to mark advertising that resembles editorial as "Advertisement."
Advertisers may NOT mislead readers into thinking that banner ads are functional (eg, polls or search engines).
Banners should not appear to be part of the Scratch-Golfer.com or E-Zine Newsletter editorial content (ie, no “blending”).
We recommend that advertisements embed a full-banner frame link to your business website
REPORTS
Reports will be generated on request. Our reports show total unique IPs (ie, number of different readers), total hits per month, and average hits per visitor.
ADVERTISER LIABILITY
Banners are published on condition that the advertiser assumes full liability and responsibility for any legal claims resulting from banners displayed on Scratch-Golfer.com or the biweekly E-Zine Newsletter. The publisher will not be liable for any costs or damages associated with the posting of a banner, for failing to post a banner, for failing to post an update to a banner, for errors in key numbers, or for claims made in banner material by the advertiser.
